2020 – Current MSc Applied Cognitive Psychology @Leiden
Master Thesis: Environmental Labelling Interventions of Consumer Behaviour
In my Master of Applied Cognitive Psychology at Leiden University, I heavily utilized Python, employing packages like Pandas, Numpy, and Seaborn for data analysis and visualization.
Complementing my technical skills, I used InDesign and Photoshop for prototype creation for more design oriented projects. My collaborative tasks often saw me assuming leadership roles, guiding teams to achieve high-quality outcomes.
Bachelor Thesis: Investigated the impact of Eastern and Western cultural differences on the explicit and implicit attitudes towards robots. Helped in setting up surveys on Qualtrics and handling the subject data. Data analysis was done in SPSS. Thesis grade: 8.5
Minor Courses: Digital Humanities -Hacking the Humanities: Digital Humanities & Text Mining -Information Visualization and the Humanities -Digital Media, Culture, and Society -Special Topics in Digital Humanities: Wrote a text-mining and editing user interface (UI) in Python.
Skilled in tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Photoshop, and Python, Leon combines design creativity with empirical data to craft digital solutions that are both aesthetically pleasing and highly functional. His leadership skills, honed through leading several academic projects, make him an excellent collaborator and a proactive problem-solver. Leon brings passion, adaptability, and a continuous learning ethos to every endeavor, making him a distinctively valuable asset in the rapidly evolving field of UX design.
* Conducting Usability Test Interviews with clients. * Suggesting improvements based on feedback. * Creating prototypes in Figma.
* Accessing APIs with Python * Managing Data within Dataframes with the Pandas library
As a UX Researcher at GreenSwapp, I effectively employed Figma for design, while Adobe XD and Photoshop were my go-to for creating interactive prototypes. I conducted comprehensive heuristic and expert analysis to inform design choices. Regularly engaging with users for interviews, I collected invaluable feedback for design iteration. Beyond my role, I also contributed to data analysis, leveraging my proficiency in Python to yield actionable insights from complex data sets.
Leon is notable also for his critical thinking. He is not afraid to think outside of the box and he can see issues from multiple perspectives. Furthermore, based on the smart research questions he developed, it was clear that he gained a quick mastery of the subject matter in a relatively short time.
Leon is smart, dedicated, and has a talent for putting himself in the eyes of the user. He’s an astute observer and deciphers patterns and behaviors that are not obviously visible at first. This has made him an asset to our team and product, especially when it comes to identifying user needs.
